In 2015, more than 190 world leaders committed to 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) to help us all achieve a more compassionate, equitable, and sustainable world. Each documentary featured on Films for the Planet touches on one or more of the SDG’s. We highlight select films aligned with the SDG’s and offer educational resources to complement these films as a means for deeper learning about global challenges and opportunities.

Educators interested in providing relevant information about the SDG’s for the next generation of leaders, can access Films for the Planets documentaries along with the Microsoft Learning’s course which has been designed to support the teaching of the World’s Largest Lesson and all other efforts to educate and engage young people so that they can support the Sustainable Development Goals and turn their support into action.

Governments, businesses and civil society along with the United Nations have started to mobilize efforts to achieve the Agenda for Sustainable Development by 2030. A recent report concludes that meeting the goals in just four out of 60 sectors (food and agriculture, cities, energy and materials, and health and well-being) could open up market opportunities worth up to $12 trillion a year in less than 15 years.”
