As a compliment to the film, click HERE to watch an interview with Dr. David Korten best-selling author, political activist, co-founder YES! magazine and former professor of the Harvard Business School, and Rev. Dr. Matthew Fox, author and founder of Creation Spirituality. The interview was recorded for the International Golden Rule Day 24 hour broadcast. Get ready to shift your frame from individual “me” to the collective “we” as we discover earth as a super organism that utilizes cooperative self-organization to create and maintain the conditions essential to our existence as interconnected living beings.
Take a deeper look at the devastating effects of plastics over-consumption on the exquisite harmony of nature and wildlife. Chris’s profound artistic mastery allows nature to speak to us in a way that is emotionally compelling and completely unexpected.
“My intent is to help viewers reconnect on a universal level with living beings. My time with these magnificent beings was an internal experience as much as an external one, infused with often-overwhelming levels of beauty, lyricism, mystery, reverence, grief, and joy. Midway felt to me like a kind of acupuncture point on the globe, emanating a transformative healing energy that if honored in its full depth and breadth, could reach far out into the field of human collective consciousness. I felt it was vital to integrate all of these elements as a holistic approach to the documentary art form.” – Chris Jordan
ALBATROSS is being given to the world as a new-paradigm gift-economy offering. The main ways it will spread is by word of mouth, social media, and hosted screenings. You can personally amplify its message by sharing your feelings and experience of ALBATROSS through your networks. Hosting a screening is also connective and rewarding, even if it is just a small screening for your friends or family.
Facts: Three million seabirds have chosen this circular atoll with three coral islets as their somnolent rookery, and 250 different marine species populate the nearby reefs and lagoons. Located at the apex of the Pacific Garbage Patch, the small cluster of islands that make up Midway Atoll are protected by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, but the rangers can do little to prevent animals from finding the teeming mass of pollution just off shore. This plastic pollution is dire for bird species, which confuse it with food: Albatross chicks alone in the Midway Atoll eat 5 tons of plastic per year.

Watch the interview with Ryland and Josh to hear about Kiss the Ground’s soil advocacy, farmland, and business programs as well as films, books and educational resources. Learn how your food choices as well as community action can transform your health and spirit while healing the planet. Discover how you can be part of a citizen soil movement that elevates your consciousness by the simple yet profound act of making soil together.
Facts: The world will run out of top soil in 60 years. Our soils support 95% of all food production, and by 2060, our soils will be asked to give us as much food as we have consumed in the last 500 years. Soil filters our water. Soil is one of our most cost-effective reservoirs for sequestering carbon. When cared for properly, soil has the potential to sequester much of the carbon dioxide that humans have emitted into the atmosphere.
Soil is our foundation for biodiversity. Millions of tones of food and waste accumulate in our landfills each year that could turned into nourishing life-giving soil. Learn how we can “sequester” (store) carbon from our atmosphere, where it is harmful, and pull it back into the earth, where it belongs, through regenerative agriculture, composting, and other land management practices.
Be part of the solution by joining with scientists, farmers, ranchers, activists, and policy makers in a global movement toward a new type of agriculture called “regenerative farming” that increases soil life, stores water and sequesters CO2.
Join us in discovering fresh perspectives and the weaving together of regenerative solutions.
Living Soil, Unbroken Ground, The Regenerative Secret, Farmers Footprint and more from Kiss the Ground and the Savory Institute – to discover how regenerative agriculture represents a solution to climate change, a healthy food production method, and a fundamental shift in our relationship to nature.
