Unearthing Solutions for our Soil, Health and Planet
Welcome to a transformative opportunity to align with a movement that’s shaping the future. Films for the Planet invites you to become a speaker for our annual Earth Week event, a unique experience that combines the emotive power of storytelling through film to spark meaningful social impact and community engagement.
In celebration of Earth Week, we are hosting a virtual screening of “Common Ground,” the highly-anticipated sequel to the award-winning film, “Kiss the Ground.” This documentary sheds light on the transformative power of regenerative agriculture and indigenous practices, offering hope and concrete solutions for healing our soil, health, and planet. Featuring voices such as Rosario Dawson, Laura Dern, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Jason Momoa, Ian Somerhalder and farmer Gabe Brown, “Common Ground” is poised to make a significant impact worldwide.
By fusing journalistic expose’ with deeply personal stories from those on the front lines of the food movement, Common Ground unveils a dark web of money, power, and politics behind our broken food system. The film profiles a hopeful and uplifting movement of farmers who are using alternative “regenerative” models of agriculture that enhance soil health, biodiversity, and reduce carbon emissions, paving the way for an economically viable agricultural system and stable economy.
You are receiving this invite as your expertise and perspective has genuinely resonated with us and would greatly enrich our discussion and help us explore the themes of the film more deeply with our audience.

Objective:
Planetary Health is a vital concept that underscores the intrinsic link between the well-being of our planet and the health of its inhabitants.
According to a study conducted by the Kiss the Ground organization, only 4% of US adults are aware of the significance of regenerative agriculture. Our objective is to educate the public on the value of regenerative farming methods and the health of our soil as it relates to human and planetary health.
These approaches address issues such as our broken food system, world-wide health crisis, and environmental degradation. Through the restoration of Earth’s ecosystems, one acre at a time, we can forge pathways to protect our planet and secure a healthier future for generations to come.
“Despite all of our differences, we all share a common ground, the soil in which we live upon. Given that most of our food is grown in the soil, unhealthy soil means unhealthy food. Our health is directly tied to what we consume, and as mentioned in the film, food is quite literally medicine.” ~ IMDb User Reviews
“Common Ground is structured as a moving letter to the next generation that will inherit the Earth. ~ Greg Archer – Movie Web
“Elegantly photographed and empowering.” ~ LA Weekly
“That rare documentary that actually proposes solutions…practical solutions.” ~ FilmThreat
